Love this scope. I know people complain about the size of the cross-hairs at 6x but I really don't think its horrible... could they be thinner... sure. But its so hard to get a TRUE 1X its hard to complain about its other small (in my opinion) shortcomings.

Would I buy this again? Definitely!

Build quality is great. I would compare it to Vortex quality, without the lifetime warranty. Not a high end scope, but you should know that from the price. Would I trust it with my life... not sure... but definitely going to give it a run at the range for a few hundred rounds and I'll update the review.

Edit: Well I've had this on my AR for just about 5 months now, and about 7-800 rounds through it. The scope itself has done everything I wanted. Hold zero and give me some magnification when I need it.

The 6x reticle is still the only downside (3rd picture), really wish it was more like BSA Tactical Multi-Gun Rifle Scope 30mm Tube 1-6x 24mm (2nd picture attached) but I can't complain about its durability. So far so good (knock on wood).

I have 3 1-4x, and now this Firefield 1-6x scopes. This one is the least expensive of the 4 by far. The 1x is actually 1, or very close to it, and beats the other 3 hands down in this regard, which makes it an outstanding two eyes open CQB optic. Real 1x is dificult to obtain, and Firefield has got it down pat. AWESOME! The eye relief is excellent, as is the field of view and clarity of optics. 6x is a very nice option, but the reticle, which is in the first focal plane, is just plain awful. The mil-dot reticle clutters the view, and as you increase magnification, (being first focal plane), it gets bigger and bigger to the point that it can completely blot out your target. This type of reticle has no place on this type of scope. Circle dot, horseshoe or just dot would be better. It's a shame, because otherwise, it is an incredible scope for the money.

I purchased two of these. I was initially impressed by the apparent ruggedness of these scopes, they are at least heavy, which is okay with me, but as noted in a previous review, the reticle becomes overwhelmingly large and thick as you increase power. The next and possibly deciding factor was when the first scope, which had between thirty and forty rounds fired under it, the front lens set just fell over from the recoil. See my photos above. The second scope has about fifteen rounds through it. I am seriously wondering about it. For ten dollars and the cost of shipping Sellmark replaced the scope. But this experience coupled with the fact that the reticle completely obscures a 4" target at 100 yards, making the magnification useless at range, make these scopes a bust. Precision shooting at longer range is virtually impossible. Your target disappears behind the reticle!

Within the first range trip the elevation turret adjustment stopped working. It appears that the set screw no longer engages. The turret just spins. A minor point is that the eyepiece lens cap became loose and is no longer snug... Useless. I would avoid this product. I own a variety of scopes ranging in price, this is not the least expensive, but it sure is the worst quality I've experienced.

As stated, it's a decent scope, when mounted with decent rings, on a decent rail. (I zero on my WASR at 100Y, then throw it down range with a baseball bat type swing) It stayed within 4 or 5 inches which is probably more from my aging, eyes than the firearm or scope. I was just happy that it was still on paper!
HOWEVER- the illuminated reticle shines very bright out of the front of the scope.
I (with the assistance of my son) observed from the business end, how well the scope was visable while the reticle was powered up.
In every case, and at the lowest setting, it was almost as though the operator was shining a flashlight towards me. (the target) The GREEN setting was slightly less so.
Inside, outside, even in a vehicle...It was like pointing a mini-mag flashlight with a red/green filter at me.
Out to 75 yards, it was easy to see the weapon being raised to fire.
I taped various screens over the objective end, and the loss of visibility (at night with no moon to half moon) was just not worth the trade off.
I'd have to see a similar low-light test before spending over a grand on similar first-focal-plane scope. So, if you MUST go with this make/model, just wait as long as possible before aiming it at trained, keyed-up, professionals who are trying to kill you.
OH - The zero also held up very well on a SOCOM in a Bulldog stock for about 900 rounds so far. (I haven't thrown it down range though....)

For the money, this is the best 1-6x24 available. I give it four stars because there is room for improvements. This optic has a medium heavy feel to it like the Vortex HDs. That's good because good optically clear glass ain't light. The MOA clicks are spot on and give a really nice "click" when used. The mount sits perfect on my M4. The illumination dial is really cool. It clicks thru 5 brightness settings of red and green with two off positions in between. It spins limitlessly. My only complaint is the MOA tick marks on red green highest settings get blurry at 6x zoom. I bought this scope as an inexpensive entry level 3Gun scope. It should do the trick until I'm willing to spend $500+ someday on a high end optic.
