As a gamer who really enjoys story driven games such as Resident Evil, Clock Tower 3, Silent Hill 1-4, Fatal Frame 1&2, and Kuon, I really enjoy F.D 18 alot. F.D. 18 seems to use the engine used to make Resident Evil games. Graphics are very simalar to the games listed in the title of this review.
Only instead of shooting it out with zoombies or battaling ghost or monsters you fight fires.
You start out rescuing people in a tunnel. You use a fire hose with 2 diffarent spray nozels and a axe. There is no rushing or running in this game. Explosions will happen at any time and the flames will consume you. Rooms enclosed will be smoked filled and hard to see in.
The game is really fun to play and like I mentioned before, it plays alot like other surrvior horror games.
I'm not sure if I would pay the inflated cost here on Amazon, but if you come across this game at a game store or anywhere eles, it'll be alot cheaper and a definate buy you'll be very happy with. I intend to keep this game for a very long time.

when i first saw it i thought it was 1 of those rescue heroe crap games, but i took a closer look at it cause it was teen. trust me this is not a little kids game. it is pretty realistic with a mistake though. when computers and plants are on fire, if you hose them down, theres no mark that it was on fire. BUT this doesnt affect the gameplay so dont hesitate to buy. its also really fun, when i first tried it i was like ooooook, but now that i played it more its very well done. stunning graphics also. some of thoses "firefighter reviews" say to get this game only if your into firefighting, all i know is before i wasnt, now i am. now, the whole point of the game is search and rescue. save the trapped, they even have there own health bar. the first missions make it seem like its short and easy but now that im far, its neather. BUY IT

this game is pretty good except for the long levels and that you cant save in the middle of a level.

Firefighter F.D.18 is a great game!THe game has easy controls and great sound and graphics. I would have say that the characters do say a little bitsy of bad lauguage in the game. Some levels are hard and some are easy. But for some people who think search and rescue stuff is boring, than this is not your game.

of all the fire fighteing games i have played this is the best.

When I first heard about there being a game solely about firefighting, more specifically Search and Rescue and First Attack Firefighting, I was ecstatic. Being an avid gamer and a firefighter, I was happy that there was finally a game like this. Currently we, unfortunately, are lacking firefighting games. But this game makes it all better. The graphics are great, and the gameplay is excellent. The game can get quite tough at some times, and I have noticed that those around me who do not do it in real life have a really, really hard time understanding the concepts. I have read many reviews by gamers who say that the game is too hard. All I can say to them is, "were we supposed to make it easy?" The real task is not easy at all, and the toughness of the game only adds to its realism.

All in all, however, I think this game is a great piece of work by our friends at Konami. They have always been known for some high caliber games, especially on the PlayStation 2. Firefighter F.D. 18 is no different. So if you're into firefighting, or if you just want to get a taste of what it is like, then this game is probably for you. Just don't forget to pick up a copy of Backdraft on DVD.

I saw previews at this game and thought a fire fightning game that looks interesting so I thought I would check it out. I rented this game and it was not the best but not the worst. The missions can get very frustrating when you get farther because you have a time limit to save people. I thought this game deserved 3 stars because of the difficulty setting and the repitive lines the characters said during the game so if you play this a while and mute the game you will probably then enjouy it.
My friend who is a firefighter loved this game though and said it deserved 5 stars but thats probably only because hes a firefighter but if you are a ff then go out and buy it otherwise just rent it first.

This game feels like a rewritten version of "Backdraft". Only it's with a different guy instead of Kurt Russell's character. Either way, I'm glad that the playable character doesn't die just like Kurt Russell in that damn movie. This game has become a blockbuster than "Backdraft"

I Think This game is great, as a firefighter they try to make the game as reallistic as they can.

this is by far one of the stupidest games i have ever played. I do fire/rescue in real life and this game is in no way accurate. I didn't expect a 100% accurate depication of firefighting, but the creators of this game should have consulted someone that at least understands fire behavior and fire suppresion theories. after about the 4th stage of spraying water on fire and rescuing people i was bored. they should have incorporated other tasks into this crap game.
