Chilling story...,
By Janeth (Giathersburg, MD USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fireflies in the Delta (Paperback)
The story grabs you and you turn the pages. There are rough spots as one might expect in a first novel without strong editing, but--given the author's intimate involvement in the legal system--one is chilled at the depiction of the law enforcement process as described. I suspect that the truth is closer to the story than we should accept. A casual mention is made of the governor of Arkansas. That would be...?

I was given this book by an old high school friend -- which introduced me to the encryption of the names in the book -- afterwards I was able to easily recognize the names and cities referred to in the storyline. The names and descriptions of the various locations are true to the region. My next trip to "Beckerton" will definitely include asking about the case upon which this is based..... as far as quality, the text lacks standard proofing, but the story is substantial and easily holds ones interest.

The storyline in this book is very captivating. It is actually a fiction novel that is based on a the facts from a true case. Believe it or not this basic storyline actually occured in Arkansas Delta area. I would love to get the opportunity to speak to Mr. Dane personally.
