5.0 out of 5 stars Now that's a damn fire!
Never before in the history of filmic fireplaces has there been one quite like this! Fire sizzles in the lead role of "the Flame", while Log gives a stunning performance in the supporting role of "Wood".

3.0 out of 5 stars overrated
I was unimpressed with this video and wished I had just judged this video by its cover than listened to all of the positive reviews. I think everyone who gave it a favorable review was just favoring the idea of the video than the video itself. This view is 3/4 firewood and 1/4 fire flames. That's really my only complaint, but then again, the most important thing was...

The deceptively simple plot of a fire burning had more twists & turns than a rollercoaster, but even so, the singing emotionally charged ending came as a complete surprise!

This video literally burns for you. If you buy only one video of a fireplace, this is the one for you!

I must admit, I thought the idea was rather cute considering we don't have a fireplace and the holidays were upon us. When the family heard that I had ordered this tape they laughed, (and laughed loud :< ).....HOWEVER, it wasn't long before I heard comments like, "Hey, this is kinda cool" and within minutes we were all asleep in the living room nestled around the "fake" fire! (The sounds of crackling wood needs improvement)

My sister and I purchased this for our parents' anniversary. It was a bit difficult choosing from the many selections without being able to preview any of them but this was a winner! Our mom absolutely loves it!

Next best thing to having a fireplace. I've used it during parties and it's always a hit.

I think everyone who gave it a favorable review was just favoring the idea of the video than the video itself. This view is 3/4 firewood and 1/4 fire flames. That's really my only complaint, but then again, the most important thing was seeing the flames from my perspective. If your interests parallel mine, look elsewhere. Otherwise, if you ain't that picky, this will do. The crackling is nice background noise.

Nothing's perfect. I wish this video had soft music in the background, but otherwise it's great. Well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fireplace... in a box! *dies*, June 7, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Fireplace in a Box [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Fireplace in a Box was probably the best thing to purchase at a garage sale my entire life! (When in actuality, I got it for free, AT a garage sale ^_^) Anyways. Fireplace in a Box is one full hour of a guy videotaping his fireplace. Well worth the effort. I was quite surprised actually to see that a couple logs fell over about 3/4 through the movie. That must have been the climax. Meh. I liked it. Watching a whole hour of (what HAS TO BE FAKE) crackling noises and orange-white flames is completely astonishing. Next things in the series (I hope) "Paint drying... in a box!" and - this is sure to be a hit - "Your grandma's carpet... in a box!"

4.0 out of 5 stars All flame and no music!!!!!!!...just the way I like it..., November 20, 2007
This review is from: Fireplace in a Box [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I LOVE this tape. My one complaint is that it needs to be rewound again and again. I'm hoping they will put it on DVD. I like this one better than the other DVD fireplaces I've seen. This one shows the natural progression of a fire....the DVD fireplaces just freeze and re-start after a couple of minutes, so the scene doesn't really change.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE fireplace to buy!, March 23, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fireplace in a Box [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Congratulations Guys!!! Your "Fireplace In A Box" is -->the BEST<-- with a VERY clear, sharp picture, aesthetic log placement--and a natural (not an "arranged") look with a SUPERIOR sound track of the snap-crackle-pop-sizzle fireplace activity. I give your video 6 Stars out of 5 [Amazon not having that high a rating] and recommend it highly!!!
