More About the Author

Landscapes lie at the intersection of air and fire, land and water - elements that gives us our life and diversity, disruption and change.
.
Douglas Kent has been chasing these elements since childhood. 30 years field experience, four books, over 50 published articles, and landscapes scattered throughout California, Kent's hands are rarely clean. For the last 15 years he has run a horticultural services business that specializes in the measurable improvement of our landscapes and communities. He also teaches at Cal Poly Pomona and Saddleback College. When not in a garden Kent can be found goofing around with his family, or at sea, or both. His work can be viewed at www.anfractus.com.

This book is a lifesaver! I had little to spend and needed immediate assistance on how to move forward with protecting my hills home and still keep it beautiful. This is a MUST HAVE or as I rather consider it fire resistance for dummies! Thanks so much, looking forward to your next edition!
