Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Moore is best known in North America as a prolific author of books on astronomical topics such as Astronomers' Stars ( LJ 7/89). This book, like Patrick Moore's Armchair Astronomy (Norton, 1984), a previous work in the same genre, offers well-crafted, sometimes humorous, and always fascinating snippets on a potpourri of topics ranging from the oldest star map to the geysers of Triton. The essays are quite understandable and great reading for the astronomy buff. Alas, such books, unless heavily publicized, do not always attract the readership they deserve. Recommended for larger public libraries.
