This review is from: The fireside book of dog stories
this book is a collection of stories of owners and dogs. Some are written during the world war two era. This book is filled with wonderful stories, heart wrenching, witty, funny and true. Some of famous people and their beloved pet. Hunting dogs, family pets, wise and wonderful. This is truly a curl up and enjoy collection of stories. This book was printed before the invention of dog food.. when people and pets may have had a much different relationship to each other..but then maybe not. If you love a dog ,you will truly enjoy ,hate and love this book.

Classic and timeless stories and lore for the dog lovers of the world. For a few dollars, this wonderful old treasure can give you a world of enjoyment. My particular favorite (and it is indeed priceless!) is Lord Dunsany's "My Talks with Dean Spanley"... it is indeed hilarious! This is a book that should be passed down from generation to generation.

This book is totally awesome. A particularly intriguing story is "Talks With Dean Spanley". The condition of the book seemed to me a little misleading. It was listed as "Used, Very Good", and then particulars on the bill of lading said, "binding a bit loose, but book intact, book has some wear, inside no writing or highlighting. (G11). True, the binding was loose. They didn't mention that there was paint all over the cover and the back of the book, and stains on the top of all pages. Considering the content of the book, and that I paid very little for it, it was a bargain, but the seller could have been more forthright about the true condition. I would rate the book (5) and the seller (3), and I concede that the condition statement could have been oversight on the part of the seller.
