Nice career overview from the brothers McNamara,

Embrace is a pretty good band that never really made it outside the UK. It's too bad really. Oh well. This disc pulls together tracks from their first three albums and b-sides. Loads of great, epic, sing-along choruses abound, although McNamara's voice is hit or miss. You either like it or you don't. Also, check out their latest album, 'Out of Nothing', which is absolute britpop, albeit a few years too late.

I'm an Embrace fan- and so, looking to backfill my collection, I picked up their early "greatest hits" collection.
The good news is that the good, or excellent songs, are really excellent additions that can't be purchased individually through an outlet such as iTunes. Of course, the attrocious songs- such as "3 is a Magic Number"- are strikingly similar to bad karoake. The highlights, then are: * You're not Alone * Come Back to what you Know * Make It Last * My Weakness is None of Your Business * The Good Will Out * Fireworks Bottom line: good for the Embrace fans; otherwise, stick to their newer albums/CDs. |
