4.0 out of 5 stars Fireworks Before Romance, May 27, 2010
This review is from: Fireworks (Harlequin Romance) (Paperback)
Two old men, one from a Texas cattle ranch, the other from a Boston banking firm, meet in St. Louis. They'd met halfway to discuss their mutual great grandson. It seems the Texan's grandson Jesse and the Bostonian's granddaughter Meg just can't quite get along. Though they are married to each other, they have been living apart for five years and the rancher and the banker don't believe this is good for the child, the great grandchild, they both love. Neither Meg, nor Jesse have filed for divorce and neither are dating. The oldsters believe they might still be in love and they concoct a plan.

And what a plan it is! More like blackmail actually and the stakes are Meg's trust fund and the ranch that Jesse so dearly covets. They have to spend time together in the cabin where they'd spent their honeymoon or the trust fund and the ranch are history.

At first Meg and Jesse are uncomfortable with each other and, of course, they argue like fireworks, but then, well you can guess what happens next, sparks fly from a different kind of fireworks in this well written romance that gave me more than a few chuckles as I read it.
