Fun trying so many types of popcorn kernels,

I've been trying to find fluffy, crisp popcorn that doesn't have too much hull. I use a kettle movie-theater style 4 oz popper with coconut oil. Tried the variety sampler packs, and couldn't really find what I was looking for. It was fun trying all the different kinds though. Each one has its own unique characteristics. The Savannah gold was too chewy and had a ton of hulls, more than Orville I think.
The only one that I really got addicted with is the Black Hills. It produced medium-sized, crunchy, flavorful, almost nutty popcorn. I couldn't put the stuff down. Its not your typical movie-theater style though. Decided to get more through the 6 bottle case. The Baby Yellow is nice, fluffy, no hulls, but more like popcorn bits and pieces. Its perfect for those with diverticulitis or colon problems. For movie-theater style popcorn, I've liked the Kroger's (grocery chain) brand yellow kernel popcorn best. It has less hulls, and pops crispier than Orville. Sometimes cheapest is best!

Make great gift. I use the corn on an air popper, and I will have a tablespoon left of each from the bag, so I can make notes and see what I like and buy it in bulk later.

We had several family members over for a Christmas get together and the adults and kids both really loved trying all of the different types of popcorn. This brand is a very high quality popcorn. Each type of popcorn had its own unique flavor, color, size and texture. Some had hulls and some did not. It was a great way to get to try many types of popcorn without buying large quantities. Each packet provided enough for two batches (1/3 cup each batch) of popcorn in my kettle style popper with about a Tablespoon of each flavor left over. We combined the leftovers to make hodgepodge batches. They turned out great also.

Should have read the description in more detail. There are several bags of popping corn, but they are quiet small. This is a Christmas Gift, so maybe once I have given this gift, I will have a chance to sample the popcorn. Might be worth the price after all?
