Unique and Effective!,
This review is from: The Firm: Firm Abs (DVD)
This new DVD from The FIRM is split into three abdominal workouts. And they aren't the same old stuff. The moves get more intense with each workout and feature a blend of some pilates and yoga strengthening. If you're really tired of plain old crunches, try this workout- you won't be sorry. It will challenge you, and the music is quite entertaining- it just "fits" with the moves. You may want to get the Sculpting Stick to use with this one. It's a very good body bar and it's fun to use. It makes the workouts more effective (sometimes you place the stick under your knees or use the "twigs" to intensify crunches).Kitka

Bad pacing, ok workout, supp. equipments not useful,

Most of the moves go too quickly, does not give your muscles are full workout. If you want to remember the moves and work it on your own that's fine. But then again why don't you just buy a book and do it yourself?
The "sculpting stick" which does not include with the video, is not particularly useful to the type of workout suggested. With or without do the same. Also, the three 12 mins workouts was too short to make the video worth its price. I'm sure there are plenty of workout videos out there with better pacing for a full workout on your muscles and longer selection recorded. For example, I tried Tamilee Webb's Abs, Arms and Legs of Steel, that is much better I think.

The Ab Routines are worth the buy,

I already have this DVD as it is included in the Firm's BB2 4-pack. She does a variety of ab exercises in 3 15 minute stints and they work. Especially the planks, which are hard to do alone and including the sculpting stick, but the results are worth it.

Great Workout, Easy To Follow,
By DJ "Real-Life Mommy" (Texas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Firm: Firm Abs (DVD)
I've had this DVD for about 6 or 7 years now. I bought it with a pack of 4 Firm DVDs, the sculpting stick/twig set, and fanny lifter. This and the Maximum Cardio Blast are my absolute favorite workout DVDs. Firm Abs is very easy to follow. Nancy has a very pleasant voice and describes the moves so they're very easy to follow without looking at the TV the entire time. The moves are quite challenging the further you go - especially those side planks with the sculpting stick.
When I first began to use this DVD, along with the Maximum Cardio Blast, once a day, I lost 2 inches from my waist in the first two weeks. I haven't been actively working out for a long time, but doing this DVD again was great. I feel wonderful after doing this workout (eventhough I'm sore) because I can tell my abs and back got a fantastic workout. Nancy has you do moves that work every section of your core, so us moms can get that lower pooch area that is rarely hit with traditional workouts. I think it's clear that I love this workout. I highly recommend it to everyone.

I love this video. When I have made Myself sore from other firm videos I simply get a good working out with through My abs. YOu have to have the stick to really use this video. This video starts out with simple ab work for those just starting out then becomes more advance towards the end.. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

NOT What I Was Hoping For...,

I had worn out my copy of The Firm's 5-Day Abs so I thought I would try something new. Bad decision. There are way too many moves in a short period of time so you really don't feel one exercise before you move on to the next. In addition, you really need to buy the "Firm Sculpting Stick" to make many of the exercises work, which I found insulting and rather marketing-minded. I am sending this back!

This workout will get you moving. Not a ton of floor work but it is fun. You have to pay attention to follow the moves.

Grab your tweee-igs,

This review is from: The Firm: Firm Abs (DVD)
After wearing out my 5th - yes, 5th - copy of Firm Parts 5-day abs, I thought I would try something new so I ordered this. The 5-day ab workouts are all 6-8 minutes, which I usually find very do-able a couple times a week, so I thought these 3 ten minute workouts would fit equally well into my life. The first impression I had is also the video's main flaw. It is basically a VCR on a disc. You cannot go to the main menu, skip the pre-workout ads, or select one of the workouts. You basically have to fast-forward to the part you want. Add on a few more minutes to your 10-minute workout for fast-forwarding. Already annoyed with that, other aspects of the disc just seem unbearable. They use this "fanny lifter" (which I am nonplussed to even type, much less consider buying), a "stick," and "twigs." The latter 2, with the host's less-than-charming accent, come out "steee-ick" and "tweee-igs." I don't want to feel like I have to buy a bunch of crap for my living room just to do some crunches. The host continues to be annoying, beyond her use of equipment-that-is-not-my-couch and accent, and even says "Bust a move" at some point during the first workout. The work-outs are ok, give me a little burn as I do them (well, not the first one), and do use a few yoga and pilates moves as they claim. I will grind my teeth as I fast-forward to the start of my desired workout until my #6 copy of Firm Parts 5-day abs with Tracey James shows up in the mail.
