5.0 out of 5 stars Completly covers a total body areobic and strength workout.
In 60 minutes from the warmup until the cool down and stretch, this video does the job.It begins with a warmup up of squats, leg abductions, floor areobics and a satisfying stretch, covering upper and lower body muscle groups. You then proceed to pushups, squat routine, then more pushups. Lunges follow, alternating with upper body (military presses) more lunges, then a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Misleading Title. I expected more of an aerobic emphasis.
I have been a Firm Believer for about 10 years. When I bought this tape, I was looking for something that was very aerobic to do on days after a hard strength workout. This tape had very little aerobics. Most of it is strength training - don't get me wrong. It is a tough tape, but it might not be what you are looking for if you want an aerobic emphasis. Firm's...

You then proceed to pushups, squat routine, then more pushups. Lunges follow, alternating with upper body (military presses) more lunges, then a step areobic segment. Leg lifts with ankle weights, alternating with lat rows. leg presses off a step, you chose how high,

then bicep curls. more leg presses. Areobic floor workout with light weights, more leg presses, then a french press, more leg presses. Another step areobic section, followed by lunges and hover squats. Light weight upper body work, then floor work with weights including a good ab workout, finally a cooldown and stretch. This could be the only video you need, varying weights and increasing poundage, keeps this challenging into the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE OF THE BEST VIDEOS IN THE FIRM SERIES, September 24, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have been working out with "Firm Cario" for three months now, and have seen great results. They aren't kidding when they say "visible results in 10 workouts" . I use this video along with "Firm Strength". The instructor is great and very motivating.

5.0 out of 5 stars Firm Cardio, an excellent workout, July 14, 2000
This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I got this video and Firm Strength at the same time, but I didn't like this one as much the first couple of times I did it. Part of the problem was that I didn't have the right size step for the step aerobic sections (6"-8" is recommended I think). But once I got the right size step, I have to say this is a great workout. Unlike Firm Strength which works one muscle group to exhaustion at a time, Firm Cardio goes from upper to lower body so you have some time to rest one half in between. Despite the word cardio in the name, this video only has 3 short cardio sections interspersed with the weight work. The rest is full of muscle shaping and building activities, like tall box (12"-14") presses, lunges, overhead presses, etc. There is some great hip and thigh work in this video towards the end that really works well (and be careful unlike me who was sore the next day). They say on the video that you can use a barbell for some of the weight lifting, but everyone in the video is using a dumbbell. The instructor has a pleasant voice and good form. If you like Firm Strength, you'll like this one too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Firm Cardio was not what I expected, February 8, 2000

This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
The only reason why I purchased this tape was to achieve the best results by combining the cardio with the strength video. I was expecting a bunch of prancing around. That is not what this tape was about. It's tough and it really works the glutes well. I actually like it better than the strength one. I would recommend this video with the strength video. They both are very good and the best part is that they do work different parts of the body very well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly surprised....., March 17, 2000

Being a devoted FIRM Fitness video user I am not sure why I waited so long to try this video, but when I finally did I was very impressed by its effectiveness. The style is the same as the original 5 FIRM videos, but with a more current feel. The music is a little more upbeat, but the workout is challenging and spiced up my workouts.

I do enjoy this video and would recommend it for anyone. I also liked its partner video "Firm Strength" and suggest that they are used alternately for peak efficiency. Definitely a better purchase than the FIRM Tortoise and Hare pair!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great FIRM workout!, September 29, 2000

This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I got this video along with Firm Strength, and I have found that I definitely use this video more than Firm Strength. Don't get me wrong, they are both GREAT videos. I have yet to meet a Firm video that I didn't like. Heidi is a wonderful instructor. Her cueing and encouragement is great. Despite the title, it is not a 100 mph dance-y tape. It has a nice balance of weight and cardio moves. The cardio/aerobic sections are easy to follow (the only one I had problems with at first was the box-step but I caught on). As always, there is the Firm's aerobics with weights (four-limb) sections along with weight training, tall box (the Firm's 12-14 inch box--I use a 12 inch Rubbermaid foot stool) work, and step work. The floor workout (lower body) on this tape are quite challenging (especially if you use ankle weights). All in all, it's a great workout, and it's definitely one of my favorite Firm tapes!! Buy this tape!!!!

I purchased this video and Firm Strength at the same time and I love them both. I find this one a bit tougher than Firm Strength, but I look forward to my workout each day, no matter which one I'm doing. It's very effective to alternate the two of them. I like this tape more and more each time I do it. Great cueing and motivation from the instructor. Get ready to sweat!

5.0 out of 5 stars ANYBODY GET THE PLATES ON THE TRUCK THAT JUST RAN ME OVER?, November 24, 2000

This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
OUCH! I have 9 FIRM tapes - this is one of my favorites. It had me walking like an 80-year old woman the next day. I hadn't been that sore in a long time. But the first time I did it, it obviously strengthened my muscles because I did not have the same problem after that. I have been working out daily for the last 6 months and still cannot get all the way through the abs and legs sections of this tape - it is incredibly challenging, and the aerobics section maxes out my heart rate every time (you really should use a heart-rate monitor with this one so you don't have a coronary). If you feel brave enough, this WILL get you in tip-top shape, and you can have fun while doing it.

2.0 out of 5 stars the worst video of an amazing series, May 8, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Firm Cross Trainers: Firm Cardio [VHS] (VHS Tape)
first off, I just want to say I am passioante about the firm workout series. The changes in my body over the past few years have been amazing, and every summer I can don a bathing suit with confidence - This video, however, is the farthest thing from a cardio workout. The step routines are boring and barely raise my heart rate, and the instructor is really annoying, The majority of the video is spent blasting lower body muscles with weight work - but even this is not done as aggressively as in other videos. If you're looking for cardio, i would reccomend any of the other firm videos. The workouts are intense and the results are dramatic and fast. This is just the one bad apple.
