The Best Firm DVD on the market!, October 11, 2010
This review is from: The Firm Total Body MAXIMUM BODY SHAPING SCULPTING Dvd (DVD)
This is a DVD that I have done twice now and I have to say this is my all time favorite Firm DVD! Tracie Long is an excellent lead and her cueing is second to none! This is a workout that leaves every muscle in your body worked and worked well. My chest, biceps, and legs (especially butt) are sore as I type this. One of the things I love so much about this workout and in general other Classic Firm's is that you work your pelvic floor muscles which isn't something I have ever seen done in another fitness DVD. This workout encourages you to push past your comfort zone. You're legs will be shaking with the tall box climbs, the biceps get plenty of attention, and the core work is solid and strong. There isn't one complaint I have about this DVD and would quickly replace it if I ever needed to. The workout is 45 minutes and begins with a strong warm up. Tracie uses heavier weights herself which is motivating and there are a few times towards the end of the sets that you can tell she's feeling the workout herself. I would say that anything with Tracie's name on it is a worthy purchase and this one is no exception! If this won't get your muscles, heart, and lungs stronger, nothing will! I only wish I tried the Classics sooner, they DO NOT dissapoint!
I would rate this for the Intermediate+ Exerciser. Beginners could use it but would need to lower the pace and the weights, also forgo any weight on the lunge/dip series and tall box climbs. Advanced users will also benefit if they use a challenging weight. Tracie uses either 15 or 20 lbs pairs as her heaviest weight down to 5s for shoulder work. This is a workout that one can really grow with over time as using heavier weights will allow you to push past fitness plateaus.
Equipment needed:
* At least 3 pairs of dumbbells- light, medium, heavy (optional 4th pair of Medium-heavy) example: 3, 5, 8, & 10s
* A mat for floor work
* Fanny Lifter or High Step that can go up to 14 inches(used by Cathe Friedrich)
** If you have bad knees, a step height of no more than 10-12 inches. 8 inches I have found doesn't do much but 10-12 still works the legs and butt well! **
* Dowel or Broomstick
* Water and Good Form... you'll need it!
Optional- Lifting Gloves if you have sweaty hands!

Best Firm workout I've ever done!!, May 22, 2010
This review is from: The Firm Total Body MAXIMUM BODY SHAPING SCULPTING Dvd (DVD)
It's only 45 minutes, but you get all you need for shaping your entire body. I do this workout in the mornings before leaving my home and it makes my day!! It is very challenging in a nice way. You get to sweat and you get to shape every single muscle. I started doing The Firm videos about 2 years ago. I started with the new ones but I wanted to try one of the old ones just to see why The Firm was such a solid company. Now I see why!! After doing this workout all I can say is I love The Firm!!

One of my favorites, December 28, 2008
This review is from: The Firm Total Body MAXIMUM BODY SHAPING SCULPTING Dvd (DVD)
This dvd has become one of my favorite Firm workouts. It isn't the toughest one, so I'd classify it as more of an intermediate workout. I don't use Firm dvds for the cardio, and that's why I like this one. It tends to focus on muscle building, and it's pretty basic. You won't regret this one if you want to tone up.
