5.0 out of 5 stars This is the first book you need to pick up to help with ANY change in your life
No matter what you're going through, this book will help you find the positive side of everything so that you can get more out of your life. I am going through a big career change and Ariane's 9 principles of change have helped my understand what I'm going through. And, more importantly, helped me navigate the change. I am already feeling more confident and positive...

1.0 out of 5 stars Save your money
Save your money since this book is just a rehash of many of the popular books already out on the market. There are no new insights. David Bach and Wayne Dyer's books would be a far better choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's in brackets (Loving Your Life More), July 12, 2008
I met Ariane when she was working for the Boston Consulting Group in London. I was still at the university she had studied at and was interviewing at BCG. I didn't get the job but our meeting sparked a fascinating chain of events in my life...I only talked to Ariane briefly but the next day she came to find me at the university, listened to me, a stranger, moan about my plight and then told me to join her for a walk around London. We talked about life, work, study, travel, finding employment; we brainstormed other options and how my life might be better without the job (how many people put themselves out for strangers like that?).

A few months later when Ariane was traveling through London we met up again. I hadn't found a job and was struggling with my studies. When we said good-bye Ariane announced that she wasn't going to get in touch and didn't want to hear from me until I received the grades I needed. Perhaps, she said, that would help me understand how important it was for me to regain my focus. Then she just walked off. I was stunned but what an effect it had! Eventually I went on to do a Masters in Barcelona and then found a job with another consulting firm in New York. It was perfect and I loved it. A year later Ariane moved to New York after Stanford - I had got back in touch with her via fax (a strange notion, I know). In New York I had the opportunity to really get to know this 'life coach' who had helped me re-frame my thinking so dramatically. I know I'm not the only one with such an 'Ariane story'.

So the book? Well, to me it is Ariane. A reflection of how she lives and what she has seen work in her own life and the many lives she has touched. A reflection of who she is as a person: somebody who helps. When I read non-fiction I'm almost more interested in the authenticity of the author so I thought I'd tell you about how I met Ariane in case you are too. Ariane has always been a change expert and so it is no surprise that the book is finding success and touching people. It can't not because it's authentic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Change positively, May 6, 2008
most of us hate change, or, to say the least, are ill-equipped to deal with it. This book has helped me to use easy tips to improve my life simply on a daily basis, while going through exciting (living healthier) or challenging (death of a loved one) changes. Great format to take notes; will become one of your bedside's favourites. Must read for all!

5.0 out of 5 stars Healing My Life, May 30, 2008

I LOVE THIS BOOK! A cancer diagnosis, the sudden passing of my best friend of 31 years, job loss and a break-up with the love of my life - all in 4 years time. Talk about change! I wish I'd had this book as I navigated my way through. Still, it's here now and I need it just as much.

Truly the book and website have been blessings in my life and I'm sharing the info with everyone. I wish I had enough words to express what this has done for me. Thank you over and over. It's like a guide book to life. When I don't remember how to navigate, or even that I can, it reminds me. What a precious gift. God Bless you Ariane. I look forward to more great things from you in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars New Star Emerging, May 7, 2008
We live in a world where change has become the one constant. Technological changes continue to happen faster and have broader impact. And, the prevalent instant gratification philosophy creates even more change as so many are quicker to shed relationships, whether personal or vocationally.

Author Ariane de Bonvoisin has written a terrific book, full of sound wisdom on how to make change a positive in one's life. Her combination of straight talk and numerous short examples, drawn from her own life and that of people she knows, makes for an enjoyable, quick read. I also liked her choice of quotes as she respects many of the authors and philosophers I like most. (Her use of the Serenity Prayer touched me personally as I use this to close every one of my weekly radio shows.)

With no disrespect to the author, I believe there are better books on how to create a given change using four or five step processes built on well researched, psychological analysis of personal change. And, of course, there are specific books for changing a given behavior that offer far more depth (due to their singular focus). But, in terms of establishing the notion of ways to embrace change, I think this book is an absolute winner.

Given that I am a generation older than the author, I found myself admiring her youthful passion for helping people embrace change, not just through her first book but also through her helpful web site. Critics likely will say she has yet to personally experience some of the more stressful life changes. But, I believe she is building "change muscle" (her term) that will have her handling those stresses very well. And, I love the fact that the likes of her and Tim Ferris (the Four Hour Work Week) are weighing in with thoughtful writings so early in their life. From among such young contributors will come our next generation of stars like today's Wayne Dyer, Cheryl Richardson, Marianne Williamson, Brian Tracy, etc.

Based on her first book, Araine de Bonvoisin shows numerous signs of being among the next generation of stars. Yes...even our stars change!

5.0 out of 5 stars Change is inevitable and this book can be your guide, September 17, 2008
Change is inevitable. It's part of living life. When faced with change we have two choices; we can embrace or fear it. In her book, "The First 30 Days," Ariane de Bonvoism provides a well thought out guide for using change as a catalyst for helping us grow and thrive.

Embracing change means we are growing and evolving. Fearing and fleeing from change means we are allowing our life to be controlled by outside influences and circumstances. In her new book The First 30 Days, Ariane de Bonvoism writes from a coaches point of view and her mission is to guide us through the expected and unexpected changes in life.

The First 30 Days - Your Guide to Any Change (and Loving Your Life More) is an easily understood and practical guide for learning how to embrace change and to be able to go forward in positive and empowering ways. Ariane gives you a proactive approach to handling the inevitable changes that occur in life.

The premise of her book is to embrace change from a position of power. Change is a constant in life, be prepared and be ready to be proactive. Ariane makes it very clear that it is how you choose to handle change that will make the difference between going forward in empowering ways or allowing fear to overwhelm you.

By coaching us through change, rather than lecturing, Ariane expertly explains how to make it through the toughest first few days and/or months of the change process with our heads held high and our self-esteem in tact.

I believe that if I list the chapter titles and subtitles that will explain The First 30 Days even better than I can.

If you're looking for a magic bullet to make everything go away, this isn't it. If you're looking for earth-shattering new scientific information, this isn't it. If you're looking to the find the courage within yourself to grow from life's changes, this book is for you. 5.0 out of 5 stars Guru, July 11, 2008
The cover says it all. Hot, sexy, confident and dynamic. I read and continue to read this book. I actually bought the book because of the cover, but once I got into the book I was hooked on Ariane's message(s). Simple, easy to use advice, and a book I would recommend to anyone as it is so true, change is constant. Well done Ariane, when is the next one out?
