I have seen every epsiode for 3 years running. The best series on TV. A and E need to be commended for presenting this look at Homicide investigations without making it too goulish or gory. Well done and I am totally addicted to this show!! It gives you a riveting look at murder investigations from the start to the finish including all clues , interviews with suspects and other cops and investigators and most of all it is all real!!

Without a doubt, this is the most fascinating look into homocide ever done on television. The detectives are master-interrogators, the keenest observers and just (awe)some in so many ways.

This show totally ruined CSI and a couple other "cop-shows" that I used to enjoy. No more drama, ever again. I will only watch the first 48 because it is so intense!

What a awesome show. It is the ultimate "reality TV" that follows detectives investigating the ultimate crime....murder. I have been hooked on this show since the start and this DVD has some of the very best investigations. Buy the DVD and watch the show on A&E...the 5th season is going strong as we speak.

This is my first season viewing of the "First 48" and I like to comment what a suspense thriller this is. I am intrigued on how these professional detectives can sleep at night doing something many people don't even dream of doing for a living. I just wish that there or will be more episodes of other cities like New York and Chicago were there is more violence and gore. Good job A&E!!

I began watching "The First 48" when it started over 5 years ago and have been hooked since. Tuesdays and Thursdays are my "First 48 nights", so no one better bother me, lol.

Over the course of the series I have come to really admire and enjoy watching many of the particular cities and homicide detectives, mainly the Memphis, Dallas and Miami teams.

Gotta Say Det Mason is one of the most unique (and high maintenance) individuals I have seen, but she does her job well and gets her suspects to 'fess up a majority of the time. Mullins, Collins, Lundy ,Castillo, Tamayo, Castellanos and John are also fascinating to watch as they interrogate their suspects. The detectives also demonstrate their keen abilities to connect with the worst of the worst to comforting the victims and families affected by tragedy.

I have learned that interrogation is more than questioning someone in order to obtain information, but it's a science in itself that is mastered over time. One must build rapport with a suspect and gain their trust as well.

This is a top notch show that is not only educational, but despite the gory aspects of death which predominate the episodes, can also be a bit entertaining.

Given the spate of garbage that's on TV, this is a must see show.

If you like investigative shows, you'll like The First 48 series. I miss then Sgt. Joe, now Lieutenant Joseph Schillaci. He was always an interesting character to follow. Miami, Memphis and Dallas shows rock.
Especially Caroline Mason. I love this show.

I am a CRJU major in college and I enjoyed watching this dvd compilation from the Fisrt 48. This is one of the best reality t.v. shows on television today.

This is my favorite show. I can't get enough of it so I needed it on hand at home. Nice for those that are into reality cop shows.

If you are a dective at hart then 48hrs is for you.
Watch real dectives solve real crimes.
I enjoyed it alot.
Watching shows like this on dvd is so much better then watching them on tv.
