This is a good ABSITE review, however it is not the best out there. It is easy to read, but falls short in many explanations yet too far in depth in others. In addition, many of the charts and diagrams are difficult to understand. The questions are arranged poorly as well with the answer and explanation in the same paragraph as the question (hard to tell where question ends and answer begins).
When compared to other books out there (like Fiser's Absite Review....the GOLD STANDARD for studying for the ABSITE), this falls far short.
In the First Aid series, this is not the best. First Aid for USMLE Step 1 is by far still the best in the series.

This book is written in paragraph form and thus is easier to read than other review books that are written in bullet form. It also contains nice figures and illustrations. It covers a wide range of topics that are covered on the ABSITE. However, the details within these topics are either superficial, not complete, or not directly aimed at the ABSITE.

First Aid series , has its own flavor and style, most of us used it through step 1, ABIM, Family Boards, but this book is not a one of the family, its the black duck, very poor, superficial, with undergraduate level of knowledge, they can just change the cover to first aid surgery clerkship may be it would sell better.

Not for ABSITE for sure , may be for clerkship, rounds , though surgical recall is the one for that, i cannot recommend it for any 1, first time to get frustrated with the first aid series.

the funny thing is that the first aid for the ABIM, is soooo good, why isn't there a book like it for surgery ?!!, may be the problem is in the surgeons
