5.0 out of 5 stars Great little product, December 20, 2008
This review is from: First Act DK1000 Stereo Docking Station for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
This unit has excellent sound -- both as a guitar amp and as an iPod dock. I've tried numerous docks in this price range and this blows them away in terms of fidelity, and it's the only dock I've tried that can produce rich bass tones. As an amp, it's handy for rehearsals and even small-scale performance. It would be a great teaching tool as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars great sound, low price, December 14, 2009
This review is from: First Act DK1000 Stereo Docking Station for iPod (Wireless Phone Accessory)
The DK1000 really fits all my needs for an ipod dock and player. With 40 watts it blows away most other players which might have 7-10 watts. It really cranks! I''m in a band and we use it at rehearsal to review new songs. Our guitar player can plug right in at home and play along with his ipod! Brilliant! Its in a very sturdy cabinet and is very simple to operate. We bought five, one for each of us. I also bought one for my daughter who can bring it to parties as it is so sturdy to carry around. Shop around, I've seen them for 40% less than retail. This product does everything well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice gadget, nice surprise., February 23, 2010

I disagree with one post because I think its "looks" are the best part about it. If you play guitar you'll appreciate that the "look" fits into the band motif, not stick out like a white Ipod player amongst music gear. If you are looking at this player then you probably are into playing guitar; but if not it's a great player for anyone and much more powerful than those other named brands.

I'm 45 years old and use all pro gear for guitar. I bought this mainly as an IPOD player to use while practicing. I've found it is loud and works well. When I just want to bring out something to play along with a new song I might be learning, it's a very nice tool without dragging out the stage amps. No, it is not the best sounding guitar amp on the market but for the money it is a great tool to be able to play guitar and the IPOD at the same time.

I also teach guitar and this has been a really nice addition. Just make sure to read about compatibility with the latest IPODS (5th Generation) as it might play fine but will not charge in some instances.
