You need an amp,

My daughter received this as a Christmas gift and unfortunately we haven't been able to use it yet. The package says "no batteries included" but it doesn't state that you need an amp to use it. I believe the person who bought this gift thought it would plug into the radio, but that is not the case. I know any musician can tell you that all microphones that don't require batteries need an amp, but this being marketed more as a toy many people do not realize this. It seems very durable and has a lot of potential. But if you do not have an amp, or do not want to go out and buy one, do not buy this microphone as you will have no means to use it.

No one wants to use the mike that came with the machine. Everyone wants this one to use. Can't really rate durability yet but all else is great.
