This review is from: First Act M2A110 10 Watt Guitar Amplifier (Electronics)
Hello, me being a guitarist and a 14 year old, this really isn't what you should get, first, its really expensive for only 10 watts, for that much you can get at most 30 watts at your local music store, which I personally think would be good for a begginner, because they could change the volume well, have more effects, and you learn alot more about music on bigger amps! Second, it just does not give you enough options, and its not great quality, you want to buy a good sounding and durable amp if your willing to spend at least $70-80 without tax, this way you or your child won't sound muffled, distorted or have maybe unwanted feedback or radio signals.

This amp is a great value. Of course there are better brands out there with better quality for more money... But... This amp doesn't fall too far behind in the race! Not meant for performances. Best for private use. There is a bit of fuzz when using gain or when the volume is all the way up. But if tweak the tone/volume on both guitar and amp, you can minimise this. The amp is small, nice for travel. It's the perfect thing for beginners, quick practice, and occasional players. Has two inputs for guitar/microphone/mp3/cd players. Nice compact multi purpose amp that gets the job done well. Unless you plan on going pro... save your money and invest in this product. First Act is all about making music easily accessible to everyone. Their products are fairly well put together and quite affordable. All in all... a great value, you won't regret it.

I just bought this SO Called Amp and I must say DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS THING! At the time of purchasing this amp I was looking for a practice amp that I could use that wouldn't wake up all the neighbors and the kids at night when I play on my 120Watt Line 6 Spider IV and though that maybe this First Act amp would solve all of my problems, but I was wrong. The Sound quality is SO out of whack on this amp that it doesn't even pickup all the sounds from chord progressions and so on! The Overdrive button is a Joke and the volume fades in and out if it is set more than a little over half way. I have 5 different electric guitars (2 of them Schecters, 1 Epiphone, 1 Ibanez, and a Gibson) and I used all of them on this amp and I can't even begin to say how disappointed I was with this purchase! Ultimately I returned the Item for a full refund and I am never buying anything made by First Act or any other generic brand equipment ever again! I can't stress it enough for any guitarist (whether they are beginners or experienced musicians) to JUST BUY A DIFFERENT NAME BRAND AMP and you will save yourself or your children from having a lot of grief and heartache! All the First Act Amps are cheaply made and have terrible quality which is why all their amps are so marked down from what their original prices were!Just Avoid this Amp altogether at ALL COSTS!
