Go to the First Act web site and look at the instructions before buying. My niece got a slightly different model for Christmas (the 590) and was very disappointed when she tried to assemble the drum set. The instructions are obtuse to say the least-- almost all verbiage and few pictures.

I love this drum so much and it is a good price because in other stores they have the same size of drums and it's much more expensive. I always wanted to play the drums so I think this is excellent.

I`m 12 and I love this set. I can play pretty hard for my age. The set holds up fine. The seat is really, really soft and comfortable. I think it is a good set. Pretty easy to assemble too.

I bought this set used for 65 bucks for my 5 and 3 year old in great condition got it
set up and tuned the drums with the original cheap heads and was blown away by the sound
they sound awesome I have been playing drums for years and have played and owned many
higher end drums and my wife heard me playing them and thought I brought my drums up for the kids because they sounded great. the size is perfect for little ones because they can reach and play every part like a full size kit which is important because on a bigger kit they cant reach and will learn bad habits so it's sized perfect for them.
I bought them ear protection and they love the drums so much I can't keep them off them. only thing I wasn't prepared for was the noise so make sure you get yourself a pair of ear
plugs.and remember have fun.

I didn't buy it new. Picked it up for about 50 bucks at a yard sale. The kit is very good for kids just starting out. It really gives a sense of where a normal kit goes and where the snare and crashes and whatnot are all layed out on a regular kit. Adults and teens can get just as much fun out of it too.

Quality: Honestly I feel like people don't realize that all drums are made of wood or metal. 99% of the time the type of wood or metal won't matter because if you're playing live or jamming any drum is gonna way overpower most other instruments. If you are using them to record (I dont recommend this kit for it but you could) there are plenty of add-ons and effects that can make anything sound professional. (I am making an album and all my percussion comes from a suitcase and drumsticks on chairs or glasses and egg shakers.) Truth be told I have heard people butcher 2,000 dollar kits and I have seen homeless people amaze crowds by banging on trash cans. It's more about the drummer than the kit and if you have good dynamics and take care of the thing (maybe get some remo heads and meinl cymbals as these ones arent a work of magic) you have yourself a nice little portable jam kit. (i am converting mine into a suitcase drumkit so i can take it around.)anyway i hope this helped and good luck shopping.

i orderd this 4 years back the only problem that i have had was the sticks you will needs to replace them over and over

THIS DOESNT EVER FALL APART ITS REAL DURIBLE AND ITS BETTER THAN THE CRAP U HAD BEFORE.aLSO ITS GOOD FOR BEGENERS

first act products are all really cheap, they suck, the quality is very poor if you are looking for something with even a little bit of quality do not buy this set

this is a really great toy for christmas!! i got 1 for my neiphew!! he will love it!! its fun, durable and most of all THEY WILL LOVE IT!!
