First Aid Only Antiseptic Cleansing Wipe (sting Free), 50-Count Boxes (Pack of 12)

These are sold by First Aid Only, but the packets themselves are labeled Dukal Corporation, Hauppauge, NY 11788, [...], and are marked "Made in China". There is a different reorder number on the packets, M309-1200, whereas the boxes are item H307.

These arrived this week (10/09) and expire 05/14, so theoretically they are good for almost 5 years.

The active ingredient is Benzalkonium Chloride 0.133% w/v. The only inactive ingredient listed is distilled water (they don't list the material used for the pad, but it seems like strong paper). According to wikipedia, Benzalkonium Chloride is used in many products, including wet wipes, eye washes, and nasal sprays, though its safety in some of these latter products is suspect.

The package itself suggests they be used as a washcloth, for "antiseptic cleansing of face, hands and body without soap and water." Like handi-wipes you sometimes get with fried chicken? But without the lemon scent. However, the dukal website says, "Our alcohol-free formula ensures sting free cleansing for all minor cuts, scrapes, and burns, especially on sensitive skin."

Each pad measures 7 3/4" x 5 1/8" x 0" (approx.) when unfolded and are packaged in foil packets measuring about 2 1/4" x 2" x 1/8" (approx.).

They are typical of what you'd get in a first aid kit, not super moist, so you might need more than one for all but the smallest abrasion. I recommend including a small bottle of water and some cotton balls in your kit if possible, as that's probably better for washing most wounds. But these are handy to carry when out (e.g. hiking) and some may prefer to use something with antiseptic properties (assuming the Chinese manufacturer delivers as promised).

I bought these foolishly thinking that all Benzalkonium Chloride towelettes are created equal. I have sadly been shown the light. These are nearly dry, and are virtually worthless, unlike PDI brand, which is the only other brand I've used.

Unfortunately for me, I only discovered how crappy these really are after the return window had expired, so now I'm stuck with several boxes of nicely packaged garbage. Buyer beware!

Very gentle. I don't know how well it cleans compares to alcohol wipes. But no sting when using it.

In building several first aid kits, this is one of the items that is serving as the foundation of things. These are the same little towelletes that are standard in most pre-built first aid kits, and is exactly what you'd want there: a sting-free, AntiSeptic Cleansing Wipe.

The active ingredient is Benzalkonium chloride (0.13%), and with the amount of these you get, you could either make a few dozen first aid kits, or just a couple, and keep these handy to clean other items (like phones/remotes in hotels, for example.)

I purchased these September 2009, and they're stamped "good until" April 2011, so you're buying fresh batches.

I got these wipes for a great price but didn't realize just how large the quantity is. I got frustrated after not being able to find non-alcohol antiseptic wipes at walgreens or rite aid. I use them to keep my in-ear earphones clean.

Received these in a large box. 12 smaller boxes were in there - with 50 towelettes each. And a lot of free space in each too. After 20 minutes of repacking managed to place all 600 wipes in 5 boxes - much less space, I'd say. Can't understand, why does one need so many large boxes, which are half-empty. Waste of paper and storage space.
Otherwise, the wipes are OK. Can't say, whether they are effective, but they seem to do the job. They have no smell and are pretty large. Overall I'm pleased with the quality of the product.
