The First Alert 541 was set up with TV in a matter of minutes. Connecting it to VCR and TV took a while longer, as I am not tech savy, but did get it working in a fairly short time. I discovered you need a good bit of light to see the subjects, and a dark room is not recommended. Picture is in color and a little fuzzy, but looks OK for the price paid for the camera kit. The size of the camera makes it easy to place, and it communicates with the receiver quite well. I placed the receiver about 12 feet away from the camera. I was surprised at how much the camera took in to be of such a tiny size and could view most of the small room area that I wanted. It will take up to four cameras and really would be better to have a second camera. The audio sounds good, and it even picked up a train whistle many blocks away. I like the wireless feature best of all, but the picture could be better.
