Holy Geez this thing is great! My wife and I moved in to our house 5 years ago and this thing looked old then. Has just been sitting on the wall doing nothing. Moved it once when we painted the kitchen. Last weekend my father in law and I are working on a truck in the driveway. It's leaking a lot of gas on the engine...a lot... About 4 seconds after someone says, "that's probably dangerous," all hell breaks loose.
After the first few seconds - when I realized no one was dead (yet) - I came to my senses and started to try to put it out. Nothing cool like what you see on TV where your training kicks in and you remember how to handle it. Nope. I tried slapping it with a towel which made it waaaay bigger. Just as I'm about to start unrolling the garden hose to make it even worse I remembered this little guy. Ran in and grabbed it off the wall, pulled the pin and ran back out. By this point (about a minute in) the fire was getting serious. This little guy handled it in about 10 seconds. AWESOME! Now...to tell my neighbor about his truck...

I have owned this little fire extinguisher for several years and it sat in a corner on a kitchen counter. Yesterday, the toaster oven in my kitchen caught fire. I grabbed this extinguisher, pulled the pin and aimed and in seconds the fire was out. I hate to think what could have happened if I hadn't had it handy. It is a one-time use extinguisher but well worth the money as it probably saved me thousands of dollars worth of damage to my home. The extinguishing agent is a powder and though I had somewhat of a mess to clean up, it was accomplished by wiping everything down with soap and water. I am so thankful I had this extinguisher and plan to immediately buy a replacement.

These arrived quickly from a 3rd party seller, and they seem to be the perfect size for the kitchen. Thankfully I cannot attest to the effectiveness of the product, but there is no issue with them being NOT charged and ready to go. The product has a green button on top for you to test the extinguisher on a regular basis to make sure it is still charged and will be effective in case you need to use it. Easily mounts on the wall, and will come off quickly in an emergency. I like that it is white, it matches the kitchen more than a blaring red canister. It is also a good size to teach your kids to use, which I did show my 10 year old what to do if needed. Pull the trigger, point and shoot. Seems pretty straightforward! Hopefully you will never need to use this, but it gives a great peace of mind just in case.
