It features a low battery alert to remind you when to change the battery and has a missing battery guard to ensure that a battery is placed inside the alarm. The side battery drawer slides open for easy battery replacement. A blinking power indicator on the unit confirms that it is receiving power. The alarm also contains an optional pin to lock the battery and unit in place for tamper resistance. It can be mounted on either the ceiling or the wall and can be used in mobile homes and RVs. Just try to insert the battery and get a response. It won't happen!
The battery insertion design is terrible. Just wish they made the
old kind where you actually "attached" the battery to cables. In
this design you insert the battery (with great difficulty) into a
slide out drawer. It doesn't fit well and you NEVER get a chirp to
tell you it's working. The only way you can tell if it's working is
to blow smoke into it. NOT GOOD

A basic smoke and fire alarm that functions as described. Well worth the price; that pretty much says it all.

I received a 2 pack of these for Christmas. HORRIBLE to try to read instructions once you get it out of the awful plastic prison package! Then the battery drawer idea is totally crap. I got a little blink of light when I hit the test button but nothing to let me know it is an alarm! I am taking the whole pile of crap back to the giver....sorry if it was purchased from you Amazon....not your fault!
