FIRST ALERT may get YOU burned....literally.,
This review is from: First Alert SA304LCN Smoke Alarm with Escape Light and Long Life Lithium Battery (Tools & Home Improvement)
Before you purchase this product, please think otherwise. I have purchased two of these units. Within the first few months, both detectors were indicating that their batteries were dead. First Alert sent me two new lithium batteries. These batteries performed for almost three quarter of a year. Now the units are beeping indicating that the batteries are dead again. I have contacted the 1 800 number on the back of the units and FIRST ALERTS answer is to contact their battery supplier. The batteries are the problem and FIRST ALERT does not stand by their "long life 10-year" batteries. FIRST ALERT inflated the price of an existing detector and included a lemon of a power source. What a great way to get double the unit price for a basic product. My advice, get a competitors detector and change the batteries every year. FIRST ALERT may get YOU burned....literally.

I bought a pair of these First Alert model SA304LCN's a few months ago, installed one on 8/8/2009, and the other remained unopened on a closet shelf. Last night (10/2/2009) the installed unit started to chirp so today I removed the battery, tested it in a voltmeter, and found it to register in the "replace" range. Thus, I opened the still sealed unit and found that "Long-Life Lithium Battery" (10 year warranty, don'cha know) not only registering 0 voltage on the meter, but with corroded terminals. 100% faulty batteries. You can bet I will be calling the company first thing Monday. In the mean time, I certainly would recommend against purchasing anything from First Alert that includes a lithium battery.
