I bought this book when my baby was about 6 months old. He loves it and will often chortle with glee when I bring it out. Each page has real photos on it of babies, marbles, rubber duckies, etc. The real photos are great because I don't think young babies understand the symbolism of drawings or cartoons yet. He loves to look at the babies on each page. Your baby doesn't need to be old enough to count to love this book. The pages are very durable too. We've had ours for months and it still looks nearly new.

This book is great in most respects -- it is large and sturdy, has cute pictures of babies, marbles, and rubber duckies, and brightly colored numbers and illustrations. My one-year-old especially likes the pictures of the babies and I think it will definitely be good for teaching him numbers as he gets a bit older and understands what he is "reading"! My only complaint is that the rhymes don't scan very well, practically speaking. The rhyming lines have the right number of syllables but I find many of them really stilted for reading out loud, and find myself altering the words to make them read more smoothly. So, a high quality book in most all respects, but the text could have used a bit more work.

This is one of my toddler's favorite books! He loved the first one so much that he managed to break it (stepped on it while it was open) so we had to buy another. It's a nice, big book with wide pages and vibrant pictures. He loves to look at the pictures of the babies on each page and tracing the numbers in the back of the book. Once again, Baby Einstein doesn't disappoint!
