About the Author

Peter Anderson has lived in the American Southwest for twenty-five years, working as a river guide, journalist, teacher, wilderness ranger, and editor. Peter earned an M.Div. from Earlham School of Religion, where he subsequently taught writing for several years. He is the author of many books on nature and Spirit. Anderson lives on the Western Slope of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in Southern Colorado, where he serves as editor for Pilgrimage Magazine and poetry editor for the Mountain Gazette.

I have utilized Peter Anderson's essays in workshops that focused on writing about place. Anderson details the beauty of the natural places that he knows and balances this with poignant stories about his daughter's view and reflections on the world. Anderson blends these human interactions with his revelations about the natural churches and spiritual environments that he encounters. He presents a view from the heart that allows the reader the opportunity to experience his "holy" places.
