Let's Cook,
This review is from: A First Cookbook for Children (Dover Children's Activity Books) (Paperback)
I bought this cookbook for my grandchildren. It came to where I work and all the ladies just loved going through looking at the simple recipes and all the great information about measurements, etc. One of the ladies even asked me to get her one for her daughter who is going off to college. The daughter loves it and the first night she sat down and colored one of the pages, ran into where her mom was and said mommy look at my picture I colored!!!! How fun!!! The recipes are simple, there's tons of information and you can even color the pages!!! What more could you want!!! Went back and bought another one for my son who will soon be out on his own!!

Not what I expected,
This review is from: A First Cookbook for Children (Dover Children's Activity Books) (Paperback)
This is a good cookbook for older kids. I bought it hoping it would be ok for our 6 yr old grandson. He wants to be a chef. It is just too complicated and I am sure he wouldn't stick with the recipes.

I wasn't so disappointed with the content as much as the "package". I could have put together this book using a computer and a printer. Guess I was looking for something more substantial. I purchased it for a Christmas present, but ended up not giving it.

Okay, I know that you shouldnt leave the kids on their own in the kitchen while the range or stove is on, but giving them some creative space and ability to create something by themselves without help is kind of what I had in mind when buying this book for my 8 year old. There are no pictures and very few illustrations, and the instructions don't read like it's written for an 8 year old. My kids weren't too fond of this book, to each his own, and I'm sure that there are kids out there that would get a kick out this.

great children's cookbook,

Excellent service, excellent chilren's cookbook. My 7-year-old and 9-year-old granddaughters invited friends over and cooked dinner for them, using recipes from this book. Their mother helped with the oven and stove, but they made the meal themselves. I would recommend.

This cookbook was a gift for my grandchildren. They were delighted to receive it. I think they have already used it, and I look forward to using it with them when we are next together.
