Author Nancy Skarmeas is the mother of two and whose previous titles include My Jack-o-Lantern, The Story of Thanksgiving, and Historic Places of Worship. Illustrator Meredith Johnson is the successful illustrator of about 100 children's books, including Meet Thomas Jefferson and The Christmas Star. She credits her now-grown children with being a source of inspiration over the years. I received this book as a gift for my preschool child. He was a little nervous about starting school and I think this book really helped him prepare. He's now in second grade and doing great. Great illustrations too. I recommend this book to anybody with young children whether they are ready for school or not.
