Jump Blues Band from Victoria, BC,

I lost my CD of Powder Blues, which was a sure-fire way to get a party rocking (put this on about the time everyone is finishing their second drink) and was delighted both that it was available via Amazon and that the re-release included bonus tracks. This group was active out of Victoria, VC, in the late 1980s and were much tighter and much more creatively focused than groups such as, say, Commander Cody. If you enjoy jump blues, check out this CD. It's a gem in my collection!

I love this groups bopping blues style. A sure way to pick up the pace at a party. They really get the guitars and bass going. they are a high energy band.
When they are playing everybody is moving, even the wallflowers. these guys rock the blues. I saw em live several times in Toronto Canada now I'm hooked.

Great Album By A Band That's Often Overlooked Today,

This review is from: First Decade: Greatest Hits (Audio CD)
The Powder Blues Band has been a fixture on the Vancouver, B.C. music scene for over 30 years but the band is not very well known outside B.C.'s Lower Mainland.
They had some FM radio play in the early 1980s with tracks like "Thirsty Ears" but little media exposure since. Too bad. This is a great band whose collective talents make them deserving of much greater recognition than they've received. Life's not fair sometimes. This is a collection of their best material. If you like blues and R&B, this is a CD that is well worth your attention.
