A fan? ABSOLUTLY! After having read this one, I'll read all the others. This book is simply intriguing, exciting and romantic. If you're a mystery buff and thought you've heard it all, you haven't! If you're a fan of Joseph Wambaugh, you'll love Joseph Mcnamara!

After reading this book about police detective Fraleigh with his 2 sidekicks, I couldn't wait to read the other two books he wrote with them as characters. I've read all three and enjoyed them all. If you like a police mystery, you'll like these. Joseph McNamara was a police chief in San Jose, having started his career as a rookie in New York City, so he's had day to day experience to draw from.

Interesting, if not for the truth that Joseph D. McNamara, Ph.d, obtained his stories from the files of the internal affairs while he was in charge of the police department of his former employer. Did not come from his imagination or intellect. Good ole "Joe Mc.", when it came to choosing between the Right Thing or the Political Thing; can you guess which "Thing" he chose?
