Recognizing that today's kids are spending more and more time in front of computers, television, and video games, First Fitness has designed a line of kid-specific sporting equipment to get kids active, helping defeat the growing rate of obesity among children in America. The First Fitness Exercise Bike is a safe way for kids to model the fitness habits of their parents, making working out fun and exciting.
On the First Fitness Exercise Bike variable resistance allows kids to challenge themselves as their fitness level improves. The exercise bike builds muscle strength, improves coordination, and develops cardiovascular endurance without putting stress on growing knee and ankle joints. The electronic monitor measures time, distance, and energy, allowing kids to set goals and measure their progress much the way adults do.
With sturdy steel frame construction, the exercise bike is built to withstand rigorous use. The seat height adjusts quickly, making the bike appropriate for children of varying heights, of 4-years and older, and up to 80 pounds. With soft foam handles the bike is comfortable to ride and won't place stress on the wrists when used properly. The bright yellow, red, and blue coloring is appealing to boys and girls alike and will look great in any room.
Help your child develop healthy fitness habits now and build their muscle strength, develop their cardiovascular endurance, and improve their coordination with the First Fitness Exercise Bike. As your children's fitness level develops, their confidence and self-esteem will grow helping create a lifetime love of exercise.

Like the kids gym WEIGHT BENCH PRESS SET junior workout fitness exercise equipment I reviewed, my daughter is thrilled with her First Fitness Kids Exercise bike. Yes, yes, I know my little one should be on her regular bike-- and she is, often. This, however, keeps her occupied when I'm on my exercise bike. She can "work out" with Mommy, and that keeps her very happy and keeps me happy, too.
This is also sold under the name Kid's Gym Stationary Bike Junior Workout Kit. However, this is the same bike-- I am pretty certain they discontinued the triangular shaped handlebars. And, there are a couple of reviews on the other listing that says the bike is too small and that the variable resistance doesn't work. Well, the bike is small, but it's perfect for my 4 year old. And, I imagine it will fit her to about age 6 or so. I'm not sure the bike will fit an 8 year old, as advertised. The variable resistance knob DOES work, but it's a bit difficult to find an appropriate setting when beginning. And, since my daughter isn't familiar with these resistance knobs, the easiest way to tell what setting is appropriate would be to get on the bike. Obviously, as an adult, I can't do that. We had to turn the knob completely around several times (maybe five revolutions) until we there was some resistance. So, I'm pretty sure that those having trouble with this might not have turned the knob quite enough. The seat seems comfortable, and the pedals seem strong. There is a small removable pedometer/stopwatch on the handlebars that is easy to use. To my daughter, this thing makes her bike "authentic" and she is constantly pressing the buttons, although I'm not sure what she is expecting to see. The item is sturdy and well made. The frame is coated steel with rubber feet and the handlebars are foam covered. The seat is adjustable with two height settings. My daughter will pedal very very fast and the bike doesn't even wobble-- it's very well-made. She really enjoys this and her kids gym WEIGHT BENCH PRESS SET junior workout fitness exercise equipment. She also is enjoying her First Fitness Kids First Air Walker and, for the past several days, has wanted to spend as much time as possible using this equipment. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

The concept is a good one, but the bike is still too small for my son who is 2 1/2. He can sit on it, however, and does enjoy that. But, now the seat has broken off and I'll have to contact the company to see if we can get a replacement. I suspect that the bike isn't made to be very durable, and I will steer clear from buying this brand of toy in the future.

I have an 8 year old son with Down's Syndrome. His three younger brothers can ride bikes and tricycles but Daniel still can't. Last year we bought him a Fisher Price video bicycle game that hooks up to the TV, it was great for helping get his coordination but his strength is lacking as there is no resistance on the pedals. My wife thought the option to put some resistance into it would be a great idea to gradually build up his muscle tone. Wrong. I can wind the resistance knob 8 turns yet I could feel very little difference between the easiest and the hardest. The worst part was the pedals. The pedal cranks have too much backlash which makes pedaling choppy. I wouldn't recommend this.
