Life brings alot of the unknown and unexpected. Being sure footed is essential for success. And, being sure footed does not mean there no weaknesses, differences, or faults to be found. It means holding to what is true in the relationship between two who are married. This book helps you see yourself and your spouse in every shade of color, and to know that those colors show best when it "rains". It has counsel that will help you to remain sure footed in what is True. A must for every newly wed couple and for those who are in the adjustment period of the first five years. The counsel embraced in the pages of this book will help you to know that what is faced in the first five years is normal.

I gave this book to a very young couple as a wedding gift. As I browsed through it, I found helpful stuff even for an old married person like myself. It covers a multitude of topics in just a couple pages each. A quick reference for busy people who just need some coaching now and then.

This book is an awesome resource for every young married or engaged couple. It covers every possible topic that a young couple could encounter. Each question/topic is answered based on God's Word with Scripture references to back it up.

I got this after recently getting married. It is okay. It is set up in a question and answer format with different articles from several authors. I thought it was okay, but not very deep. I would recommend The Most Important Year of Your Life also endorsed by Focus instead.

This is another wonderful book from the trustworthy people at Focus on the Family. It is well organized and straight forward. It is decidedly Christian and conservative in its counsel, and is thorough in its coverage of topics. Highly recommended!

My wife and I have been teaching a six-week course, recently certified by the State's Twogether in Texas program ([...]), for engaged couples of all ages for ten years now. While the course has changed some due to course evaluations and the Twogether in Texas certification, the core content has remained primarily intact. Couples completing the course give it extremely high marks - especially those getting remarried who wished they had this information the first time.

I mention all this because the topics we cover in this course are all covered in The First Five Years of Marriage in a very easy to read format. Readers can read from start to finish, or pull it from the shelf to find excellent guidance for a particular season of their young marriage; the table of contents makes it easy to find the related topic. And you can never go wrong getting family advice from Focus on the Family!

This is a great book to give to anyone that is married or getting ready to be married. This book I got because I heard about it on Focus On The Family radio show, as to that I found out a person I know- shared a little part of his on book within this book.

One of my teachers at The Focus On The Family Institute, Sheryl DeWitt, helped write this book. She was an inspirational Role-Model in my life.

This book is very good for newly wed couples. I have given this book in memory of a lady that I use to work with. It reminded me of a lot of things her and her husband did together.
