Editorial Reviews

About the Artist

My name is Red Raven Blue (Thomas Mays), I am a Mixed Blood (Seneca, Onondaga) Native American. I have spent several years on the road working for different bands as a sound engineering and backup musician. After leaving the road scene I took my knowledge of computers and technology and went to work as a Technology Coordinator for public schools. As I am a Mixed Blood I live in two worlds and walk two paths. I sometimes find it hard to except the duality of my cultures. So as a means of expressing who I am I have set out to create a new genre, which I call "Mixed Blood Blues". This is a mix of the traditional style and rhythm of my ancestors with the contemporary beat and instruments of today’s music. This is for all of the Mixed bloods everywhere.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soothing and spiritual, October 21, 2005

This review is from: First Flight (Audio CD)
I really like this album. I bought it because I know Red Raven Blue and he told me he put out an album. Its a very unique sound that soothes me when I'm stressed. The mix of sounds and instruments just invokes imagery when I listen to it, something most music, especially modern music doesn't do. I'd reccomend this album to anyone who's willing to not only listen to something that gets overplayed on the radio.
