About the Author

A member of the Society of Authors, with over 60 titles to her name, Irene Yates has also written for the Times Education Suppliment, Scholastic Teachers' Magazine and BBC Schools' Radio. An expert in literacy and language development, she became a writing member of the first SCAA KS1 Test Development Team, and contributed to the Reading Tests in 1995, 1996 and 1997. She also visits schools reqularly as a Writer and Poet, and runs teacher training days in all aspects of language development, particularly literacy. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

I wanted to introduce another language to my two year old and this book was the perfect means to do so. In the back, it has a helpful guide to the proper pronounciation of the words (if it's been awhile since you, yourself, have spoken the language). Also, the books layout groups things children know together--foods, clothing, etc., and the pictures are bright and colourful. All of which, make it an easy book to teach and enjoy.

Great large hard back book. Pictures and words are interesting and stimulating. I have been looking for a French Dictionary for awhile for my daughter whom is 18 months old. This one is GREAT! I was very happy and suprised!
