Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D., a child and adult psychiatrist, is a graduate of Stanford Medical School. In 1975, he founded the first Center for Attitudinal Healing, now a worldwide network with independent centers in over thirty countries. He is an internationally recognized authority in the fields of psychiatry, health, business, and education. Dr. Jampolsky has published extensively, including his best-selling Love Is Letting Go of Fear. He and his wife, psychotherapist and author Diane Cirincione, Ph.D., have worked in forty-nine countries and currently reside in both northern California and Hawaii.

This book is beautiful, in it's warmth and it's characters and it's lessons on life. A fun story, with rhyming verse, and a great life lesson within. The Gimme Gimmes are a selfish bunch, and it is not until they nearly destroy their world and themselves by being so selfish that they begin to realize that there must be a better way, and that is to share and to love one another more than themselves. A "must have" for reading to your children/grandchildren.

The book, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, was bought from Books4Less through Amazon. The description was that it was "gently" worn and in good shape. It arrived with ripped pages, dog-eared pages and in poor shape. Plus the S&H was more than the book itself! I will never order from that company again. I wrote to them directly and got no response. Hopefully, Amazon will contact them and inform them of my dissatisfaction.
