Leap sets off to deliver invitations to the music recital but gets distracted along the way in this engaging, interactive storybook designed to introduce basic math concepts to preschoolers. Set the book in the LeapPad (sold separately), and tap Go with the magic pen to hear the story. Optional math games on each page allow children to help Leap solve simple math problems that involve number and shape recognition, counting from 1 to 10, sorting and classifying, and sequence and pattern formation. In the end, of course, the invitations are delivered and the recital is a success. The final pages are particularly fun: kids can tap the six individual instruments to hear them play alone, or tap the conductor to hear how all six parts come together to make a song. My 4 1/2 year old daughter received the Leap Pad this past Christmas and it has been one of the best investments ever. We have taken it with us on every trip in the car and it is always great for keeping her occupied. I was very excited to see the Math book. She is really recognizing numbers by sight now and is able to look at a group of objects and not have to count each one, but can tell you how many objects there are in the group. The Leap Pad is an awesome travel activity. We have even taken it with us to visit people in the hospital and it keeps her occupied and she does not keep asking when we are going to leave. Thank you LeapFrog for this awesome invention.

I think a more appropriate age range for this book is from 3 - 5. My 4 1/2 year old is now working with numbers up to 20+. This book would have been better for her a year ago.

my little granddaughter is 4 and loves learning. I saw the leappad advertised [and bought] it. I played with it to see what it was all about and was thrilled with the concept. I ordered 2 more books to go with it to help prepare her for school. I believe it great for parents to help their children with as many parents are not prepared to teach in such an effective manner. I plan to keep giving these book to my granddaughter as she grows. I say bravo!
