First Hand is much, much more than an erotic guide to fiction. It is a resource guide, collection of personal stories and anecdotes, history, and comprehensive and concise "How-To" manual to Fisting in addition to the erotica.

I have read a number of books that examine anal sex for men, but found Brough's book most thorough and complete when it comes to information that every good bottom should know to be clean and ready for when the penetrating moment arrives. As manual and erotica for the fisting community.

The books has nine chapters, if you include Dr. Fritscher's introduction. The chapters include segments on anatomy, play "guides" and instructions, the chapter with the Doctor and therapist, the segement on clubs community and the web, and the 'first hand' accounts that make up the interviews.

About the Author

Research and Handbook on the gay art of Fisting. Brough is also the author of Black Gloves White Magic and Sgt. Vengle's Revenge.

More About the Author

Tim Brough was born in May 1960 and grew up in Central Pennsylvania eating Hershey candy and Lebanon Bologna. He became a bookworm and lost all his body hair by the time he was seven; the condition is known as Alopecia. By the seventies, in addition to being the family bookworm, he started discovering he was a rock and roll freak.

Tim discovered that not only did he enjoy writing; he had a genuine flair for it. After graduating from Palmyra High School in 1978, he was off to Susquehanna University where along with his studies he found himself doing stand-up comedy, singing in a punk band and even dressing up as a clown for a summer at Hersheypark.

Even though Tim has laid down roots in six states, he currently calls Philadelphia home. He is currently working on a new short story collection and a novel.

First Hand is much, much more than an erotic guide to fiction. It is a resource guide, collection of personal stories and anecdotes, history, and comprehensive and concise "How-To" manual to Fisting in addition to the erotica. The information is precise and helpful, covering everything from anal health to prepping for fisting in advance, both physically and mentally. But most of the information applies to bottoming in general as well, so it is of interest beyond the fisting community. I have read a number of books that examine anal sex for men, but found Brough's book most thorough and complete when it comes to information that every good bottom should know to be clean and ready for when the penetrating moment arrives. As manual and erotica for the fisting community, the book should be required reading. For all others interested in anal sex, it could prove an invaluable guide.

When Tim told me the subject of FIRST HAND , I was doubtful that the subject would lend itself to a complete book, but I underestimated the boy. It offers a wide variety of fascinating and erotic glances at one of gay sex's most popular sports. There are first hand accounts of fisting, funny and serious; a thoughtful historical background; words of medical wisdom cunningly presented; and, finally, a wonderfully exciting and moving novella of a first timer and a wise mentor. Even if fisting isn't your scene, it's still a very good read.

I have had the pleasure of both reading this book and speaking with Mr. Brough on several occaisons at various leather functions. I have found him a very decent and knowledgeable person. He knows his subject well and enjoys sharing his knowledge.

I cannot recommend the book enough.
