Not Just for Parents,
By A Customer
This review is from: First Hand Faith: Recapture a Passionate Love for the Savior (Hardcover)
This book by Wilkinson not only deals with issues related to parents passing on a Godly legacy but also with issues related to your personal walk with God. What you pass onto the next generation is an outgrowth of who you are. The first part of this book shows characteristics of people in each"chair" and what keeps you from being in the first chair. A must read for anyone concerned about their walk with God.

First Hand Faith,
By Michael Taylor "Michael Taylor" (Indian Trail NC) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: First Hand Faith: Recapture a Passionate Love for the Savior (Hardcover)
"First Hand Faith" by Bruce Wilkinson is an excellent read for anyone interested in being a committed Christian in all areas of life.
Wilkinson uses the illustration of 3 chairs to describe people's spiritual condition: 1. 1st chair - committed Christian who is sold out to Jesus Christ and lives like it 7 days a week. 2. 2nd chair - a Christian who is too tied to this world to be committed like the 1st chair person. 3. 3rd chair - a person who does not know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Among the points covered by Wilkinson include: 1. 7 rules for being a committed First Chair person. 2. The following are most important to each chair - 1st (people), 2nd (possessions), 3rd (purposelessness). 3. Seek God and His kingdom first and He will take care of your needs. 4. When you are committed to the Lord, then you will value what He values most - people. 5. You will find fulfillment only when you seek to please God. 6. 4 principles for helping your children develop their own relationship with Jesus Christ. 7. The father is the key to a happy marriage and family life. 8. Passivity is deadly for the Christian man who wants to lead his family in a loving way. 9. Principles for being a 1st chair father and mother. 10. 4 significant needs of children, 6 important characteristics to focus on, and 8 principles for building faith in your children. The book is an excellent and is highly recommended for anyone - single, married, parent, etc. who takes very seriously their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
