Book Description

Four people lie dead on the sterile floors of Newton Memorial Hospital. The shooter had been one of Dr. Jack Norris patients. The chief of fellows is perplexed at how the sixty-three-year-old heart patient would have a gun, and why he would shoot Jacks best friend, Dr. John Connor, then turn the gun upon himself. Teaming up with local detectives and one FBI agent, a complicated network of scientists and professionals emerge as culprits in a web biological terrorism and greed. First, Do No Harm chronicles Jack Norris attempt to diagnose a difficult heart disorder while simultaneously diagnosing Connors murder.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Medical Murder Mystery...A Must Read October 13, 2009
By Mae
Format:Perfect Paperback
The first mystery book by this author and what I hope will be a series. A gripping medical mystery with lots of twists and turns and authentic detail written by a cardiologist. Dr. L.Jane Ira has a considerable talent for writing in this genre... I could not put it down...I give it 5 stars and cannot wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Do No Harm May 14, 2012
By Connie
Format:Perfect Paperback|Verified Purchase
Even though this was this author's first book, I thought that is was excellent. It kept me engaged throughout the entire story. It was not that predictable because there were several people who could have "done it".
I cannot wait to begin reading the second book in the series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very well written for a Cardiologist! September 29, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book, but I also work in the Medical field and could figure out alot of what was going on and being said in the cases when it wasn't explained.

I think some people that can skim over the medicalease will enjoy it too. I can't wait to read the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! April 29, 2014
Format:Perfect Paperback
This was the first writing attempt for Dr. L. Jan Eira and he nailed it! This book is full of suspense, murder, intrigue, it will have you guessing at every turn. I had to force myself to put it down. I am also an RN and thought it was clever the way Dr L. Jan Eira used the book to also teach the reader about heart related information. I have also read the second book and will be reviewing it, it too is a great read!

4.0 out of 5 stars Medical thriller March 1, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I have not read many medical thrillers in the past but this one caught my eye just by the title since Im a nurse. It had me guessing from the start and was wrong 95% of the way through the book. I like a good surprize ending and this one did just that for me. I was never bored at all, hated to put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars first do no harm October 11, 2012
Format:Perfect Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am not normally a reader. I bought this book because my doctor wrote it. I think it really held my interest because I had some of the medical problems in the book (and still have a couple issues). Any one that likes suspense, this is the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars A new medical mystery thriller March 4, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow- what a great novel for a first time effort! The book grabs you from the start and never lets you go. If you don't want to stay up all night reading to find out the end of this exciting story, this book is not for you! It's fun to gain a little information from a doctor's standpoint as an extra bonus! Hope he writes more!

More About the Author

I've been practicing medicine since 1991. Wow, I'm getting old (but don't tell anybody...). What do I do in my day job? Well, I'm an electrophysiologist. That is, I'm a cardiologist who specializes in heart rhythm disorders.

As much as I love medicine, I was lucky to discover a new passion. I recently realized how much fun writing fiction is.

I've published three medical murder mysteries so far. Right now I'm working on a Young Adult Fantasy trilogy and having the best time at it.

Writing takes me to a special place where I can unwind. Relax. Loving it!
