Book Description

May 17, 2007
A satirical and shamelessly iconoclastic spoof on today s Orwellian propaganda-machine, this book, titled My First Imperial ABC , takes on everything from Activism to Zealotry in a humorous fashion, lampooning the dumbed-down so-called debate of today s media-punditry. Camouflaged as a Children s First Book of ABC, it juxtaposes over-used, politically charged words with drawings expressing the author s dismay with our current state of affairs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Subversive wit at it's finest, January 29, 2008

Mr. Jensen has managed to deconstruct the foibles of recent American history in a marvelously simple, engaging way. Using imagery that falls somewhere between Ralph Steadman
and Animal Farm, he recounts for us our "well-intentioned"
follies in a way that is comic and tragic all at once.
Well-thought out, simply and elegently rendered in a unique style, and deceptively thought-provoking. Give it to that Uncle of yours who listens to Rush Limbaugh....you know you have one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Out for Guests, January 21, 2008
By
This review is from: My First Imperial ABC (Hardcover)
"Out for Guests" that's where I place my copy of Jakob Jensen 'My First Imperial'. In other words, this is the book I place on my coffee table so that when guests come over they are instantly impressed that I'm so intelligent to have choosen/purchased such a book; in such good humour that I laugh with this book; and so aware that I knod along in agreement with it. Hopefully, I have fooled some guests because in truth, I'm really just riding Mr. Jensen's coattails on this one. It is Mr. Jensen that should be receiving the flattery I get.

A fan of 'The Onion' publications I would have to say this book lives as a distant cousin to 'The Onion'. Your distant cousin that discovered a cure for cancer that you so seldom talk about in lue of looking like the other cousin that didn't and couldn't discover the cure for cancer.

I can't recommend this book enough and I never recommend anything. But this is a great place to start.
