4.0 out of 5 stars As advertised
It is kid-friendly as advertised. The color-coded keys are a good learning tool. The keyboard is sturdy. The only draw back is it has too many keys for young children--it has Wake, Sleep, and Power keys in grey at the very top. Otherwise, a well-conceived, substantial product.

3.0 out of 5 stars Califone childs keyboard
The keyboard does not have upper and lower case letters on keys.
The keyboard also does not use contrasting colors of letters on keys making it difficult for anyone to learn the keys for the first time. For children who are getting use to the keyboard, it would be more helpful to display the letters better.

I'm using one of these at work (I'm a computer programmer) and at home, it is a great keyboard, plus the colors look cool. Good tactile feel, large enough for adult touch typing, no annoying numeric keypad on the right so your mouse can be closer to your hands. The only drawback is that really the CTRL key should be on the corner and the FN key second. It should be CTRL, FN, WINDOWS, ALT, SPACEBAR; but instead it is FN, CTRL, WINDOWS, ALT, SPACEBAR. Really, it would help a lot with touch typing the CTRL key if that were reversed. Otherwise, most of the keys I sometimes have issues with placement of - such as ~, |, pgup/pgdown - are well placed. The cursor-key inverted T is also well placed. I'm not sure how good it would serve a 2-yr old just learning, but for any children really learning a computer, it is perfect, also...
