Pooh and friends have entertained and taught children from the time when I was a kid. Now, it brings great joy to see my own 4 year-old enjoying the trials and tribulations of Pooh, Eeyore, and the rest of the inhabitants of hundred-acre wood. The people at LeapPad have taken this knowledge and created a wonderful learning and entertainment tool for kids. My daughter finds hours of enjoyment from this - when many other things start to bore her. Somehow, she always finds fun, enjoyment, and something to learn from this, each and every day.

I bought this for my 4 year old and she loves it. The only problem is It's for ages 3 and up but there aren't alot of new books to choose from that are growing with her. They all have basically the same stuff on them, just different characters. They are mostly up to age 4... She's 5 now, and needs more of a challenge. Please make more books!

I think the LEAP system is fantastic and wholeheartedly applaud the designer and company. I think many, many families will find the My First Leap System very useful and helpful. It's also so nice to find a product that does not have unbearably loud volume settings!! We and our daughter also are fans of Winnie the Pooh. SO disapointing, then, that THIS book/cartridge are so poorly done. Many 2-year olds will find this boring and it is designed for 3-4 year olds. THIS set teaches very little and is not interesting (boring). They could have done so much with a POOH theme!! Don't waste your time with this one.

On some of the pages, the items that the child is to choose are small and if the child doesn't pick "just the right spot" on the item it tells them they got it wrong even if its right. Very frustrating for tiny hands just learning hand coordination skills, Overall the games are pretty fun, however,I don't really feel that several of the pages are educational at all, but still fun for kids just getting started in the leapfrog system. My daughter loves the books and has gotten quite good and remembering to touch the "go" button when flipping pages to make the sounds go with the pages you are looking at.

Recommended age should be lower,
This review is from: My First LeapPad Book Disney Pooh's Honey Tree (Toy)
I bought this for my 3 year old daughter. She already knows all of the things that this book tries to teach, and it is way too easy for a 3 or 4 year old child. If your child already knows the basics, like colors and shapes, this book will not have much educational value.

Good for play on rainy days and just before bedtime.,

We bought this book for our daughter because she loves all the characters associated with Winnie the Pooh. We quickly discovered what others have noted, namely, it is rather slow-paced when compared to My First LeapPad's other books. The songs are slower, as is the story, and the activities are much more laid-back.
So while it doesn't hold our daughter's attention for long at normal times, we found it good for slowing down the pace on rainy days or just before bedtime. Which she has not learned as much from this book as from the others, the slower pace seems to have a calming effect on her, which as any parent of a four year-old will attest, can be a blessing.

It teaches colors, shapes, story comprehension, matching, listening skills. This book and cartridge has 30 fun-filled activities and 5 songs in a two-in-one flip book. The story side helps to develop reading skills with stories that come to life through words, music, and sound effects. The activity side has interactive games, songs, and activities. My 2 year old loves it all! I actually maybe would give this an average of 4 on each aspect, but I feel that I must make up for the other 2 that had to leave bad reviews just because they bought the book without understanding the Leap Pad system.

I was unsure about getting this book, as the reviews are very mixed. I am glad I did because my daughter loves it. From my experience with this book, I think the problem is that it is well suited for younger children and wouldn't hold the interest of older children. My daughter is 2y/o and this is the only LeapPad book that holds her interest right now and she will sit and play it by herself. She loves the songs and sometimes will just do the music and dance along. She also enjoys the learning games. They are perfect for her and I imagine she will enjoy it for a while, but not until she is 5 or 6 like the packaging says. So, if you are considering this for a younger child, I think you will be very happy. If you are considering this for an older child, look for something else.

most leap pad books are not in good age appropriate categories,

just my opinion; but i have a hard time finding books to go with my 3yr old daughter's first leap pad. she loves maurice sendak's where the wild things are and she loves many of the other books that go with the leap pad that is for 6mo-24mo age range. i think they should have done a bit more research on which stories were associated with which leap pad system. as for the pooh bear game; i agree; way too easy here; this would have been perfect for the leap pad made for younger children, and made a more challenging one for this level. great idea; just not well put together.

This was a great toy Leapster came out with; too bad they abandoned it. I was very happy to find on amazon at a reasonable price. The seller was very prompt and came in excellent condition. My daughter likes to play with this and loves the interaction.
