5.0 out of 5 stars Her Name Doesn't Lie
Plain and simply, this is one of the most accessible, yet emotional and artistic albums to come out in a while.

Emmy's voice is subtle in it's beauty, but there's plenty of beauty there. She has creative lyrics that tell many tales, and not in a long time has someone made human emotions sound so good.

I highly recommend this!

1.0 out of 5 stars Abominable and juvenile
This is like listening to a precocious 15 year old girl who oh-so-cleverly makes an album on those Playskool children's instruments. She sounds like a shy 5 year old. Oh, the dripping hipster irony!

5.0 out of 5 stars I Can't Stop Listening To This Album, June 23, 2009

This album is a "rare rare find" (to quote a Nick Drake lyric) in that it is, to me, one of every 50 or so albums I buy that I actually bond with. I was actually sad when the album was over. Her clear voice, brilliant lyrics, empathic style, and brilliant music certainly do make her Emmy The Great. I cannot endorse this album enough. There's something sweet to her vocals though the lyrics can be biting and truthful. It will be your best friend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Second-best album of 2009, July 3, 2011
This review is from: First Love (Audio CD)
After Death's ...For the Whole World to See. Unlike another reviewer of a different edition, I don't find the songs on First Love "twee" or "fluffy" in the least. Sharp and substantial, I would call them. (Amazon has clips from the album here, so you can gauge for yourself.) I do agree that the disc to get is the one with the four bonus tracks off the Edward EP.
