Although he has not played w/ this item a great deal, my grandson who is 7 really liked it and my younger grandson, who is 3, learned one of the tricks and was very proud of himself.

My grandson was 5 when I gave it to him last year, and he loved it!... It's a good starter and introduction to learn magic tricks... There is a great DVD video by the creator and magician that comes with it...and it really helps. FYI: Not all of the tricks are on the video, but it gives light instructions on the paper insert. With adult guidance, the tricks can be figured out... However, it would be better if the creator put all of the tricks on the video. (Perhaps there wasn't room as the video is sufficiently long.)..... Warning: The plastic Magic Hat is a little easy to bend slightly out of shape and now the fake bottom insert won't stay in... That happened almost immediately... I will try to glue a couple of tiny clips inside to see if that helps to hold the bottom of the hat in. For the price, I highly recommended it.
