About the Author
Marie Battiste (editor), a member of the Mi'kmaq Nation, teaches in the Indian and Northern Education Department at the University of Saskatchewan. Jean Barman (editor) is a Professor in the Department of Social and Educational Studies at the University of British Columbia.

Excellent Review of Native Education Canada,

Although I have not read all of this book I am fascinated by it. It has provided me with with an excellent overview of native education in Canada as well as the disparities that exist between "Western" and "Aboriginal" education.A must have for anyone teaching in a native setting. Especially if he or she is from a different culture.
