Product Description

First Nature Red Hummingbird Nectar, 16-Ounce Concentrate. A Special Solution of the Perfect Hummingbird Sugars. Easy To Use, Just Add to Water. Simply Amazing Results! First Nature Nectar is a premium concentrate that ends the mess of feeding humming birds. No granulated sugars or dry mixes to spill, no boiling water, no sticky cleanup. Easy to use, and it really draws the birds! Just mix one part First Nature Concentrate to three parts water. The 16-Ounce. Concentrate bottle makes a half gallon of nectar. Scientific studies have repeatedly shown that hummingbirds prefer sucrose to the monosacharides glucose or fructose. Knowing this, First Nature Nectar uses the finest food-grade sucrose and not less effective invert sugars found in other products. Not only is First Nature Nectar the easiest hummingbird food to use, it's also the most healthy choice for these colorful visitors. You’ll be astounded at how hummingbirds respond.

1.0 out of 5 stars Convenient but not good for hummingbirds!!, January 15, 2008
This review is from: First Nature 3050 Red Hummingbird Nectar, 16-ounce Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
This product might be convenient, but I recommend NOT using it. It contains red dye and a preservative, both of which may be damaging to hummingbirds. You do not need red food coloring in nectar in order to attract hummingbirds. Most hummingbird feeders have plenty of red on them to attract the birds. A simple mixture of 4 parts water to 1 part granulated sugar is all that is needed for hummingbird nectar. Never use honey or sugar substitutes. It's simple to make nectar and keep refrigerated and certainly safe for the birds. We prefer safeguarding the health of these little birds rather than the supposed convenience of this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars really attracts, June 30, 2006

This review is from: First Nature 3050 Red Hummingbird Nectar, 16-ounce Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
I used First Nature Hummingbird Nectar liquid sugar concentrate last year and had 3 or 4 birds at each feeder. This year I couldn't find it at my normal supply store, so I used a different brand of powdered nectar. The birds would come to the feeders, take one sip and fly away. When I found First Nature on Amazon I was thrilled. I ordered several bottles and as soon as it arrived I filled my feeders with First Nature nectar. Within days I was back to 3 or 4 birds at each feeder. It is easy to mix and the concentrate does not need to be stored in the refrigerator.

5.0 out of 5 stars HAPPY HUMMINGBIRDS!!!, August 23, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: First Nature 3050 Red Hummingbird Nectar, 16-ounce Concentrate (Lawn & Patio)
I have tried several brands of hummingbird food from powders to premix solutions. The birds just taste and fly away and never dine here again. With this concentrate, they return several times a day everyday. This is the only type of food I use anymore. It is the best. Easy to mix, bottle lasts a long time. Hard to find in the stores so I get it here on Amazon.
