Familiar Music As Played By A True Artist, August 29, 2000

This album contains all those supposedly trite and "easy" recital warhorse pieces played to perfection. You would think that the result would be pedantic and boring, but Laredo's playing demonstrates the vitality a first-rate artist can bring to even the most familiar pieces. If you are a piano student, or if you know one, get this CD just for the inspiration it provides.

My First Recital, Ruth Laredo, piano, September 15, 2008

Excellent! Excellent CD!! Wonderful to listen to for pure enjoyment and inspirational for piano students. I recommend buying this and it's sister "My Second Recital" also by Laredo.
Ruth Laredo is one of the great pianists of the 20th century. It's a priviledge to be able to hear her perform some of the "easier" classic piano literature.
