I purchased The First Response Digital Ovulation test in conjunction with the standard First Response Ovulation Test Sticks.
Also I purchased the Clear Blue Digital Test as well as the Early Pregnancy Test.com Ovulation sticks too.
So all in all I had 4 Ovulation tests going everyday at the same time twice a day to see the difference.
I chart everything, my BBtemp, my CM my cervical position and feel, so I know approximately when I should receive a Positive result.

For 10 days I got only negative on all.

The day that my charting led me to believe that I was going to get a Positive, Only Three gave me a positive result One failed.

The Clear Blue Digital test gave me a smilie face,
the Early Pregnancy Test.com Ovulation Strip gave me a Positive Double line, the test line darker than the other,
and the First Response Normal Test also gave me a positive result.

But the First Responce Digital test, still said negative.

This is the second time that this happened. I am sorry to report that my experiment with this is sound.
The First Response OPK test is faulty! And you should consider not purchasing it for the price that you would be investing in it.
I strongly recommend ClearBlue OPK digital test. Not only does it work, but it wont shut off if you want to test again to see how long your surge lasts for. The First Response test will shut down and not work ever again once you receive a Positive test. which I am yet to see. Though I am sure it will be too late at that point.

I bought this product at the store because they were out of the clear blue easy brand. First complaint: they need a cap. I dont know about everybody else but I dont like to set something I peed on just openly on a counter or the back of the toilet. Second complaint: the reader shuts off permanently after it gets a yes. Two problems with that, I like to test to see when my LH surge is over, and I usually have sticks left over when finished. I'll have to buy a whole new kit just to use those sticks. Waste of money. Third complaint, and this is just silly complaint but big time in my book... Five minutes is a really long time to wait on results.

I purchased this product for $55, which was comparably priced or even slightly more expensive than other brands with 20 strips. I had previously used the Clear Blue digital ovulation test, which comes with 20 test strips that are individually wrapped so you can use them over the course of several cycles. I naively assumed this First Response test with 20 strips would be similar.
I gave it 2 stars because it does work and it's easy to read when you get a No- or a Yes+. Some very cheap tests have no reader at all and you have to subjectively judge the saturation of the test line compared to the control.
However, buyer beware: as soon as you get that first Yes+ the reader inactivates and cannot be used. So even if you have 15 of the 20 strips left, for which you paid as much or more than other 20 test ovulation kits, the remainder is useless. You can't save it to reuse next cycle, you can't test later the same day or the next day to see how long your surge lasts, and you've paid an absurd amount per strip used compared with other brands...
Also, it gives you a coupon for a "free" pregnancy test--but it's actually a mail-in rebate, which is annoying. Other brands, such as Clear Blue, include a pregnancy test in the box of ovluation kits!
It really feels like the company has designed it this way deliberately to force you to buy a new set every month. But they miscalculated, as I will not be purchasing this kit ever again.

I only used 10 of the sticks before I got a positive and it shut off on me! I am not happy about spending that much money on something and not being able to use all of the product. I was so angry. I should have read the instructions before even buying it. Complete waste of money. I would not recommend this product to anyone. =(

DO NOT BUY!
I have been using the 2 line ovulation tests and had received a positive (darker test line than control line) for 4 days in a row. I decided that maybe I was reading them wrong or it was a bad batch of tests so I bought these thinking they would remove the guessing. At 6pm I had received a negative on my old ovulation tests and and 10pm I tried the digital receiving a No- (negative). I had been drinking a lot of water so my urine might have been diluted. Next day I took another digital and it said Yes+ (positive). I am getting a little concerned now that I am surging for over 4 days. I decided to take another just double confirm but the screen is now permantely turned off. Apparently, once you get ONE positive it shuts down never to be used again. I still have 18 test strips left, $55 later and I can no longer use it this cycle or next. Next time I will by ClearBlue Digital they let you use all of the strips you pay for!!!!

Recap:
$55 for 20 test strips
Used 2 strips - got a positive and can no longer be used
THIS IS NOT PRINTED ON THE BOX!
Misleading
Total Scam

I bought this at Target for nearly $40. Man did I overspend - what a piece of crap. I echo the other complaints I see on these reviews:

1) It flat out doesn't work. I used it for 10 days and it failed (as in on the 10th day I got the "?" result, then tried again 2 hours later like the instructions say and got another "?" result). So that alone renders it completely useless.
2) Clearly I didn't get to this point but I didn't realize until after I bought it that (assuming it works correctly) it shuts off with a positive result, so you can't see how long your LH surge lasts for. There is only one explanation for this and that is so the company can make money off you when you have no choice but to buy another one.
3) But wait, you can't buy another one to use with your mass of leftover strips because they apparently expire within 30 days. I would love to know if this is actually true or just another load of crap. They really expect you to buy a whole new package. What a waste of money and of plastic.

I could go on......and I will, as in, onto another brand.
