Fans of David Francey will already know the songs featured on this CD as they're compiled from his existing albums. However, this CD does a brilliant job of showcasing David Francey's warm, funny, simple, and captivating storytelling and stage presence. I haven't seen him in person, though everyone i know who has claims him to be just lovely.
This is as close as i'll get for now, and it works brilliantly. The music is David singing with his friend Shane Sampson on guitar, and it is a crisp, bright recording. The vocals-only Torn Screen Door is big and powerful, while other tracks are softer, or rollicking. Excellent work from an excellent musician, and the personality behind it all shines through warm and gentle. |
